| About Open HotSpots Network |
Introduction
The Open HotSpots Network aims to create a central database with
HotSpots.
The project was started in February 2002 when we were looking for
a "cool coding project". While looking for such a project we saw and realized
the possibilities you would have when traveling around and just lookup the
HotSpots around your trip to get wireless internet access all along. We surfed around
and could not find such a page. The idea of OHS was born.
Services
The Open HotSpots Network provides a global database with HotSpots entered by
users of OHS. Every user is free to search the index for a HotSpot nearby or on
his tour.
The OHS website also has several forums about HotSpot related topics that user
may use to share their experience with this new technology and freedom.
OHS provides an article system so that users can spread their articles on
the OHS website.
The website provides a news service that users of OHS can contribute to. this idea
has been adopted from SlashDot.
